Our workshop capability has taken a sharp increase in 2021 with the purchase of some key machines.
We can now offer the following machining disciplines:
Our new Union 130 horizontal borer is planned to be converted to full CNC operation with a bed capacity of 10 T. This machine has the ability to take horizontal boring in Brisbane to the next level. Having arrived in our workshop early June 2021, we are now working towards having this operational as soon as we can.
CNC turret head lathe:
With our Mazak quick turn, the robust & easily programmable nature of this machine makes it a very usable machine for one off or bulk production numbers.
Mill / Drill:
With a milling machine and a mill drill, from small to medium sizes we can find a solution for your milling needs.
Mill Drill bed = 600 mm x 850 mm - Perfect for all you PCD drilling and Vertical Boring.
Milling bed = 600 mm x 200 mm - Perfect for everyday milling requirements.
Currently our workshop boosts four center lathes. Our capability with lathe machining ranges from our smallest bench top lathe up to Ø800mm in our gap lathe and Ø500mm over cross slide to 3000mm in our longest machine.
With a large 600 mm long x 300 mm wide magnetic bed, we can fulfill a wide variety of surface grinding needs.
Our fitting shop capability has come along way and is growing as the requirements of new work calls for. Some key fitting shop equipment in our workshop is:
400 T Horizontal press
Designed and manufactured in-house, this is one impressive bit of gear. With an internal pressing area of 1500mm wide and 5000mm long there is not much we cannot fit in this press. We have also manufactured two pulling arms to attach externally with a proven 150 T capacity.
Purchased new in 2019, our bearing heater has the capacity up to a Ø400 mm ID bearing. With temperature or time control this bearing heater allows us to precisely bring a bearing to size safely.
High pressure oil injection unit
Our SKF oil injection unit allows us to safely remove components from tapered or parallel fits where high interference is present.
MIG - STICK - TIG
Any materials - Any thickness.
With our welders ranging from portable 120amp single phase site welders to 400amp - 3 phase Migs we have the ability to meet any welding requirements to AS 1554.
Inhouse pressure testing
All works designed to operate in a pressurized environment are subject to pressure testing QA before leaving our workshop.
While we appreciate that welding alone is an art form, there is a certain level of extra skill and experience required to fabricate components to minimize twist, warping and or bending. Our highly skilled team have that knowledge and understanding. Whether it is a fabrication job to build a frame or to rebuild a shaft journal for repair, this focus on material behavior through the welding process is critical to ensure repairs and builds transition smoothly to the client or machine shop.
